    Default Superior Hiking Trail SOBO

Just in case anyone can't get out hiking this month due to work, school, or body worn out from summer fun - I'm starting SOBO of Superior Hiking Trail on Saturday. Plan to finish 298 miles about Oct. 1 in Duluth. Real-time map and daily (as possible) posts at http://hikingdude.com/superior-hiking-trail.php until I finish - one way or another.
Jay Cooke State Park and western 10 miles of trail are still closed from flooding this spring so my southern terminus has to be 123rd street trailhead.

I hiked the SHT both NOBO and SOBO before there was any trail south of Two Harbors. I'm planning to check out everything south of Two Harbors once it is all complete (supposed to happen around July 2013 last I heard). Are you planning to use the North Shore State Trail (a snowmobile trail) as an alternative to the stretch north and east of Duluth that isn't completed yet? Good luck on your hike. It's beautiful country.
