    Default Online trail guide

    Hello everyone

Is there a good online trail guide that covers the trail mileages, shelters, water,etc...

I am planning a trip and like to review the guide online. Mainly interested in TN/NC

I dont want to spend $ to join a group or other service, interested in free online info.

If you want free information just ask away here on Whiteblaze. If you want everything neatly compiled just pay the eight bucks to ALDHA. I mean it is cheaper than the burger and beer that you will get at the restaurant right after you get out of the woods from this trip.

Going to have to spend some money to do it right.

One suggestion is you could post a message asking if anyone has an old AT Guide for sale....might be able to pick one up for a few bucks but like the man above said - $8 will get you a 2012 Companion in pdf format.

No, you want to hike a trail that's built and maintained by volunteers from trail clubs and which enjoys protection from development but you don't want to support those organizations who make it possible for you to enjoy your hike. Let someone else do the work, pay the expense.

That $8 guide is worth it. But here are a couple of websites that might help you; http://www.summitpost.org/appalachia...e-chart/593282 and http://appalachiantrail.rohland.org/
    I've learned....
