The supply train coming up from the right is not for him but for the two riders who were on the Virginia Highlands Horse Trail, heading for Pine Mountain. Other photos were taken the evening and morning of Wolf's ascent of the peak at Rhododendron Gap. We were camped in the fog about 300 yards away from him. He was gone before sunrise.
