Default They've gone too far now

Ok, I absolutely love bright shiny gear and admittedly I like dull titanium colored gear even more but this is just too much. For the first time in my adult life I thought not EVEN if I win the lottery. Check it out- http://www.backcountrygear.com/catalog/Stovedetail.cfm/PRM2501

the "exclusive wood box" probably weighs as much as the stove - suitable for framing!

What, the fuel bottle isn't titanium also? Well then I won't buy it.
    lol
Just who are the people that will buy this thing is what I want to know, and you just know that they will sell out in no time flat.

Odd, it will burn jet fuel, but don't take it on the jet! By the way, where does one purchase 8 oz. of jet fuel??

Jet fuel is pure kerosene (or kerosene with additives). In lots of places on this planet, you may want a stove that can burn any type of fuel because you cannot predict what will be available there. Think international trekking. This stove should be compared to Primus's regular version that is heavier. You can link to that from the similar models link on the right side. So, it is twice the price of the regular version, but that puts $300 into a bit better perspective.

And anyway, Primus is a Sweedish company. We may think this is eccentric, but by stereotype, some in that part of Europe would think this is quite cool. Let the market judge.

True that...but 14 oz for $300 is lighter than 14oz for $10. Wonder if they will make a newer version made from 100% unobtainium.

    two things come mind here.

    1) what is the weight without the box?

    2) actually it is pretty neat, as stated above for international trekking where one can not always the desired fuel, it would be nice.

Althought I think the cost it little much, if I had won the lottery or had a lot of extra cash laying around i might buy one. But as what always happens with these limited edition things, if it really does sell well, they will make more, maybe under a different model number, but they will refuse an order for something they are making a profit on. and as a general (except where cars are concerned) the cost of items comes down with increased sales volume or lack there of, if there is still a profit to be made.
