    Default best thrift store deals

So I was looking around my local thriftstore yesterday and came across a 650 fill moosejaw down jacket (never heard of them) for 2 dollars with tags and everything still on it originally 150$.

So what is your biggest or best thrift store deal???

Lodge Dutch oven WITH case - $15. No rust, perfectly conditioned, prime shape.

Here in central FL, we don't get many down jackets. I have come across convertible pants, but usually not my size. I think I've gotten 2 (?) for me. Congrats on the score.

Lots of down jackets over the years. It seems as though most city folks don't want the "flimsy" lightweight ones.

    SCORE!

I found a Current Designs Sirocco kayak for $120 with a paddle and some safety gear at a yard sale once. It is in pretty good shape and should have cost about $500.

I haven't actually found anything at a thrift store for the outdoors. My best deal is my Archie Bunker chair which I got for $2.75. It is my throne.

Not outdoor related, but I found a pair of 12kt cuff links in the junk jewelry at a thrift store. Paid $1.99, sold as scrap for $147.00. Used the profit to pay for a weekend trip to the mountains, so it was indirectly outdoor related!

Nope - directly related. The gold ore came from the ground, which usually is outdoors. Might have to check the counter out!

    Thumbs up Nothing directly hiking

But I regularly get rayon shirts for around $5.

Once got a silk shirt for about the same price.

Thrift stores charge the same price for shirts whether they're made of cotton, polyester, or silk.

I had a friend who would routinely hit the thrift stores and check coat pockets. She found a $20 bill in a coat once. She bought the coat for $10. It's not often you get paid to shop.

Default nice fairy down sleeping bags

Found a down sleeping bag, no price but felt pretty heavy. $5. Turned out to be 2 fairy down Everest model bags zipped together. Both are in mint condition. Don't know about the value but that was a sweet find

Disclaimer, I have nothing to do in any way with this website... check out shopgoodwill.com, alot of outdoor clothing and gear for sale. It is an auction so stuff w/labels, TNF, Patagonia, etc gets bid up but I got a NWT New Zealand wool vest for $5 and found my wife a NWT Free Country fleece for $9. You do have to pay shipping but still you can find quality for a baragin. I see crampons, rope, tents, packs, all manner of stuff on there.
