Default Seeking Hiking Partner SOBO May 2013

I'm wanting to hike the AT in May, from Katahdim to Springer Mountain. Looking to find a hiking partner. I'm 54, easy going, fit and fun. Would like to complete the hike in around 6 months. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Do you have an actually date in mind?

May is a bit early to start a SOBO. They woun't let you climb Katahdan until at least the 15th, and that can be delayed by weather too. Unless you enjoy being wet, muddy and eaten alive by bugs, wait until late June.

    Hiyas,
The Park begins the overnight camping season on May 15th, but trails on Katahdin are seldom open that early. Shoot for the first week of June. By mid-June 2012 over 80 MEGAs had enteed the 100 mile, so you'll have plenty of company.
