    Default Stealing Toilet Paper

OK so lets be honest, how many of you have stolen toilet paper while hiking?

Not me. But then, I'm a section hiker.

Yes but only when I thought I had to go and had a false alarm. What to do with the piece I already pulled off?

But I put it back when I was done with it.

Umm, I only *borrow* a little extra - I promise to give it back once I've used it

I've actually found that all those napkins they have at McDonalds and Hardees and Wendys are much less stressful to steal after I paid the establishment for a meal. And napkins actually are a more quantized method of wiping with.

Why steal TP when fast food joints have plenty for free?

    Never!!
Have moved excess from "general public" toilets to hiker ones.

To conduct a bit of a personality match, please indicate if you have stolen TP whether you are a "folder" or a "scruncher"?
TP threads can't get any sillier can they?

I don't steal TP... but I like to collect a little bit from every establishment I visit while hiking... call it a hobby.

    Somebody should do a poll!

503, do you have a scrap book of the different types and where you collected them from? Are some types more rare and valuable than others?

I never take a whole roll because it's too big but if I happen to notice that they switched out rolls and there's a smaller roll there that I can flatten and stick in the top of my pack then I'll snatch it.
Pain is a by-product of a good time.

I will take a roll from hotel room if needed, but I paid for that room, so I "paid for TP"

Even fairly full rolls flatten if you remove the cardboard inside.
They then can go in a ziploc bag and you pull the paper out from the inside of the roll and you have your waterproof TP holder and dispenser...

That is a really cool idea... someone else shared that on another thread.

I think I got the idea years ago from another site but I can't remember, it may have been here.
I carry one half roll like this and usuall a bit more in 1st aid ziploc. I use TP to keep glasses clean etc so always make sure I have some available and dry.

I always keep the cob in. I can flatten it down in my pack, but when I am at the privy I can pop it back into shape so it is easier to use.

You can always just skip the TP and scoot your butt across the trail like an unleashed dog.

I had no idea hikers used corn cobs. Aren'f they kind of bulky & heavy compared to TP?

Also, after you take the cardboard out of the center, you can pull the paper from the center without taking it out of the zip lock its in. I find that this reduces the amount of times i drop my roll.

Nothing worse than dropping your last roll of tp in water.
