But I must caution you to not follow my gear selection. Spend the extra cash and go lightweight and you will have an easier hike.

Yes, carried the bucket the whole way... became well known for it. Saved me a lot of money, but it was a lot of weight to carry. When I re-supplied the bucket weighed about 30lbs... so when I came out of town I carried about 90lbs. But I only had to go to town every 2-4 weeks. My hike cost about $1,000 including gear.

And yes, I think most hikers have snake encounters.

dont let anyone know u did your hike for aproximately 1000.00. they may not belive you, lol...good stuff....
