Ahhhhhh!
I was originally planning a 2014 SOBO hike (with a partner) but life (as life so often does) threw me a curveball and a couple of surprises, and it is now possible for me to hike this year (solo). I will probably hike NOBO since I'm in the south (NC) already, and I'll probably be hiking alone.
If I can pull this off (final prep, gear piles, family farewells, etc), I'll try to shoot for the last week of March or the first week of April. April 5th is the latest I'd want to start.
Any advice for someone trying to pull this all together in 6 weeks???

NOBO 25 March. I'll skip the approach Trail!! Why hike father than necessary?? I paid the local weather man a 100 bucks to guarantee perfect weather that day!!!

Hitting the approach trail on February 24th!
Shooting for March 17th but could be as late as the 20th. Keeping it traditional with the approach trail. Pictures of the falls and that long wooden staircase look amazing. Dreaming of having Stover Creek shelter to myself the first night...I know, fat chance.
Arriving in Gainesville on March 8th going to attend the ATKO then hitting the trail on March 11th.
Counting the days down so excited.
Hopefully march 24 if all goes as planned.
