Beautiful country, hikers paradise, though weather can be a bit iffy, bring rain gear on EVERY hike. Don't forget your earplugs also - they love to sing, though to be fair they do have great voices - just don't tell them that an Englishman told you!

Yea, I plan on lots of rain. And, I'm a little hard of hearing-so that may help out. ;-)

I'm English but my grandmother is from Wales (Llandudno, on the north coast) and I've enjoyed many, many summer holidays on the Welsh coast. It really is beautiful and, as etboy said, the weather can change, often several times in the course of the day.

Haven't hiked there but did a 3 day tour with a guide in '06. Very beautiful country. Welsh are proud of their ethnic identity - don't mix them up with the English!

Camped in Wales (I'd have to look at a map now to tell you where exactly) in a rented RV in 2004. Freaking gorgeous. So lush. I know we stayed near Conwy one night as well, and went up to the Snowden Mts.

We did a lot of day hiking in north Wales when we lived near Manchester. North Wales is cold wet, and windy (almost got blown over when we climbed Snowdon)...but absolutely gorgeous.

I noticed two large women by the bar. They both had strong accents so I asked, "Hey are you two ladies from Scotland?"

...One of them screamed back at me, "It's Wales you stupid IDIOT!

So, I immediately apologized and said, "Sorry, are you two whales from Scotland?"

    That's all I remember...!
