I've never had one that lasted an entire hike (1000+ miles). Do you have one you like, that lasts and doesn't get stuck in trees?

I don't use a rock sack. I tie a monkeys-fist, or triangular lashing, or something (according to how the rock is shaped).
I always know where I am. I'm right here.
I use a piece of mesh from a sack of onions or oranges. put the rock inside and hold it together with a mini-caribiner. The mesh doubles as a pot scrubbie if I need it.
One Sock......the other is still stuck in a tree somewhere, a bandana will do it too.
I tend to use a water bottle. Impact resistant and I can change weight by drinking or adding water. Also, I always have one with me anyway. Never got one stuck...
I use my 20 oz plastic soda bottle about 1/3d full of water. If you use a line too thick to screw the cap over, attach a short leader string to go under the cap. The soda bottle has the right shape to be almost impossible snag in branches or wrap around a branch and get stuck.

Do not use your $9.00, bright yellow Therma rest Neo light tuff sack. Mine is still up in a tree on the ridge overlooking Sassafrass Gap shelter.

I use a pouch which I have sewn and added a grommet. The pouch fits the roll of cord perfectly.

The stuff sack for my CoolMax bag liner, so far.

I use an OPSak, not a rock sack.
Works every time.
No sack - tie the end of the rope around the rock and toss. Sometimes my results are similar to Dogwood's.
Small cuben rocksack made for that purpose
It holds the spectra cord too
Yeah, it gets beat up hitting the ground from 30' up in the air with a rock in it
So what, gear is supposed to be used, not last forever.
Its cheap, it works, its light, whats not to like
can fill with dirt if rocks are plentiful as well.
The small mesh bags from grocery store that garlic etc come in work good too., extremely light, durable enough.
I made a rock sack out of Tyvek. The toggle is from my hammock days and given that it weighs less than 1oz I prefer carrying it over using a stick. The line is 50' of Samson "Lash-It" and the entire set up is ridiculously light. I use the PCT method.
