His stuff is awesome. The Red Beans and Rice with Kielbasa is a favorite of mine. I need to get to work and make a few more; I'm hoping to have a cache of meals ready to go in case my Long Trail hike pans out in July.

Yes, I've made many dehydrated meals of his. I'm trying to go stoveless but his recipes are so good, I'm still on the fence about that.

Thanks for sharing, I just subbed the guy and look forward to learning some of his tips. When you're hiking it's always nice to know you have some decent food to eat at the end of the day or a nice beverage.

The true $$$ maker would be powdered beer. If someone can make that now we would be in heaven.

Not something I have tried, as I'm a home brewer and somewhat skeptical, but here you go.

    Powdered beer recipe:

    1. Pour favorite beer onto fruit rollup tray
    2. Dehydrate for 16-20 hours
    3. Place dried beer in blender. Pulse to make a fine powder.
    4. Store in airtight container

    On trail:

    1. Place powdered beer into camp cup.
    2. Add water
    3. Add alka seltzer tablet
    4. Enjoy!

    Oh to dream...:P

ONne of my favorite drinks is lemon aid made from the seed pod flower of soft sumac.
Just soak them in water in your cook pot add sugar.
It even has protien from the pollon.

Just remember that Bablefish5 is from Texas and likes his food spicy so you may need to adjust the heat level in some of his dishes. I have made many of his dishes, good stuff and a lot less expensive than buying the store stuff.

Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Thanks HikerMom. I've watched several of his videos and decided that I will incorporate these into my next trip... Probably will even make several of them at home. This cat knows good food, and how to make it!
