Default Overnight parking at Pine Grove furnace park

I am going on a two day hike and want to leave my car at Pine Grove Furnace PA. Is there a safe place to park overnight?
There are so many miles and so many mountains between here and there that it is hardly worth thinking about

I parked there for several hours of dayhiking .. twice. Very safe. To park overnight, you should register your car with the park office at Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Parking is a short walk to the AT Museum, worth visiting, but check for times of operation. The AT heading north from PGFSP will pass a blue-blaze trail to Pole Steeple Overlook, worth the short walk. Good luck! - Disco

    Default PGFSP parking

Parking in the Furnace Parking lot at Pine Grove Furnace SP, check in at park office to give you license # as the lot is patroled and thus safe. The AT Museum is open from 9AM to 4PM everyday thur July 7 and from noon to 4PM after that. If the museum is not open during these hours it is because no volunteers were available. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer docent/greeter contact [email protected].
