The closest trailhead from my house is 3.7. There are two additional ones like that. Then Mt. Rogers Headquarters (Partnership Shelter) is 5.1 miles, and Dickey Gap is 8.1.~~Kinnickinic

About a half mile up the road to the nearest trailhead and probably a only quarter mile to the closest point on the trail if I bushwhack through the woods.

About 20 miles to Allen Gap TN/NC. Within 2hrs from anything between Newfound Gap and Damascus. Have hiked a bunch of it, but still have plenty so see.

Most of the yr, about 7000 miles on Kauai. But, I do live about 20 miles from the Kalalau Trail. How far do you live from the KT?

But Kauai to Springer is "only" about 4500 miles.
OMO, no cheating! That's the Blue Blazed Short cut route.
3.9 miles to one trailhead, 5.2 and 5.5 to others. I run on the AT almost every day.
From Kauai you will have to aqua blaze. Via the Panama Canal is about 7000 miles

Do you folks that live within several hrs of the trail understand just how good you have it?
The closest to the trail for me appears to be Harpers Ferry at 8 hrs, haven't been there yet, then 8-1/2 hrs to either Pearisburg or Bland, about 12 to 12-1/2 hrs to Springer or North Adams or Lee, MA.

I'd say I'm about 10 miles from Dennis cove in Hampton Tn. Maybe 20 from cross roads in shady valley
