:banana Hammock gathering at Hidden Pond in the ONF

Just wanted to let our Florida Whiteblaze members know about a small gathering of hammock hangers at Hidden Pond in July(yes, we know that we're all gluttons for punishment! ) from July 20-23, 2013. So if you've been interested in hammocks and never got the chance to try one, or you have a hammock and could never get comfortable and would like to roast in the July heat, or you would like to just socialize with other backpackers, come on out and join us. We won't make fun of you ground dwellers too much!

The wasteland in late July? I'm sure the bushes will be the same color in November. Sigh, reported for sucking.

OK thanks...I hiked in to the 2012 winter hang at ONF and met a few people. Real nice group. I only stayed around about 30 min and kept on hiking.

So wish I could make it to this one! Not sure if it would be a good trip for my first hammock overnight though, it may make me hate it being so hot and humid ha ha! Hope all going have a great time and post a trip report for me to read.

You can buy a mini battery powered fan.
I'm not really a hiker, I just play one on White Blaze.

I don't care how hot, humid, or buggy it is....I'm going!

You may be shocked at how much cooler a hammock can keep you. There's a reason jungle cultures around the world use them.
