Default Dog/Family Friendly Places to Stay Near Hanover

We'll be up doing a section from Bennington to Wentworth in July and I'd like to plan in a nero somewhere around Hanover or a day's hike earlier. I've read through AWOL's guide and see a couple possibilities for places to stay. But I'd like to hear about recommendations from folks familiar with that section. We are 2 adults, 3 children and 1 Alaskan Husky. I'd be okay with a tent site as long as there was a shower/laundry and someplace to eat nearby. We're pretty flexible. Not looking to spend big bucks but can tolerate a reasonably priced hotel/motel/hostel with a slight preference for a hostel over hotel/motel.

I should add that Killington is not out of the question. That would split our hike in half but would serve as a good resupply point. I'm game for anything between those two points.

Mountain Meadow Lodge near Killington is very hiker friendly. Dogs must stay outside and they are usually booked on Friday and Saturday nights. Otherwise, a beautiful location, meals served and a 1/2 mile hike to an outfitter and deli.

Saw that in the guide. Sounds very tempting. Thanks, Jeff.

    Any others?

Do you know if they have a shuttle service?
