    Default ***** Ultralighters Say

This may be more suitable for the humor thread, but I wanted to post here first.

    sh_t_ultralighters_say_by_twogearguys-d6n70pz.jpg

I drew this up after reading an article on Brian's Backpacking Blog called '***** Ultralight Backpackers Say'. Somebody made a comment about dropping letters from their name to save weight. That gave me the idea, but I want to give credit where it's due. Don't wanna lie and say this was an original idea of mine. :-)
You can find this and other comics on our blog, btw. http://twogearguysblog.blogspot.com/

This was talked about in a previous thread:

"How much will I save if I tank up first thing in the morning and don't carry any water?" and "If I take a dump before I start every morning, how much weight would I not carry?"

If I replace my trail runner shoe laces with dental floss will I hike faster?

I don't hike with coinage. It weighs me down and holds me back. I take $100 bills and cut the edges off to save wt.

Those Ziplocs are the heavy kind!

Scrape the paint off your trekking poles. It will save you 2-3 grams.

Shave the hair off all your body. It will save you unnecessary wt. OK OK you don't have to shave the eyebrows and lashes. At least clip them though. All you uni-brow people know who I'm talking to. Hair loving Wimps.

Hike Naked Day and going SUL are a match made in heaven.

i think the orange M&Ms weigh more than the blue ones. At least that's what my atomic scale tells me.

Clip those finger and toe nails!

I have no time to stop and talk about local forest fires. I'll be hiking so fast the fire will not have time to get on me. Zoom Zoom Zoom

As an admitted Ultralighter that is always looking to save a few more ounces, this was pretty funny. Thanks for the laugh.

My favorite quote from an ultralighter (who was carrying very marginal amounts of water)..."I've never run out of water, but I have gotten pretty thirsty..."

I just sneak a few letters onto my hiking partners name when they aren't listening.

"Yesterday I found I could save weight by converting to the metric system..... Wait for it..... Now I really am a gram weenie!"
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Which weighs more, an ounce of goose down or a gram of goose down?

Was it a metric or customary goose?

And once we DO understand it, it just opens it up for that much MORE mocking. Yay !
