    Cool

There once was a trail through the woods
Where folks carried all of their goods
    Viennas and spam
    So who gives a damn
If they had little under their hoods.

Sometimes a tortoise, sometimes a hare,
Sometimes packsniffers will hike their fair share.
Somtimes the wildlife just stand there and stare,
Sometimes a tortoise, sometimes a hare.

A very old fool and his mule
    decided to break every rule
    They hiked without skivvies
    and shared the same privies
Both up hill and down they stayed cool.

A man and his donkey did pass
time on the AT, the 'ot13 class.
when asked of his speed others often maloigned him
Some just passed by, but several joined him
thought he "I wish they'd stop riding my ...donkey"

There is an AT hiker called Stumpknocker
He used to run but now is a walker
He is not much about show
But he likes his morning "joe"
When you meet him on the trail he becomes a talker

Stumpknocker is a talker off the trail too! Here's a picture of him in his younger days, about to head south (right) to Georgia, while I head north from Glencliff for a week (Sept. 2006).

Haiku: 5 syllables in first line, 7 in second, 5 in third. . . Harder to do than you think. But fun to read! Keep it up!

There was an old soul with a cold
which was going on a dozen days old
    when he read a haiku
    his wife said bless you
passed a tissue and over she rolled
