Default Anyone know of any towns that has float tanks (sensory deprivation)?

It's been a long time since I have floated and it would be nice to know if there are any towns I'll be passing by on the AT that has sensory deprivation tanks. Would be a good place to take a zero in if so...

Long time? You are 24 I guess time is relative. Anyway I know there is one in Manassas VA, but that is 45 minutes off the trail.

(edited due to fat finger as point out below)

I tried that once, wasn't impressed.

Try the hot springs in Hot Springs, NC. With ear plugs and a bandana over your eyes, almost the same thing but with the advantage of floating in warm, mineral water

The people at Manassas are looking to get a commercial spot. They're not sure what their situation will be this summer. I'm not going to bother with the one in New Jersey since I will be visiting family in New York.

Was hoping somebody in a trail town has a float tank because it helps to prepare before getting in. I found getting in the right mental state with a focus helps you trip balls. But you also need to be in the right bodily state. Anything hurting or distracting will rob you of the sensory deprivation... plus it would be better not to get into a tank while still grimy from the trail.
