Default travel options for returning north from Damascus?

I hope to be end a section hike in Damascus during or just after Trail Days. What are my best choices for heading north? Greyhound from Marion to DC? Greyhound to Roanoke and then connector bus and Amtrak from Lynchburg? Shuttle to Christiansburg and then Megabus? I'm open to suggestions.

Hike the Creeper/ Iron mountain Trail/AT back to Marion and take the bus. It takes 3 days to do that as opposed to 5 days via just the AT. Or you can walk around with a sign and find someone going back home that way.

You could also backtrack to the Tri-Cities area in TN (less than an hour drive) and catch a flight out of TRI. Plenty of UPS stores and PO's to mail back gear.

Shuttles will be going in every direction - should be trivial to get a ride.
