Hiking NOBO May

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if there is going to be a few people hiking, come May on the A.T.
I will be starting the approach trail on May 3rd, and was wondering if there are any college students coming northbound around that time as well!
I am only doing a section hike to Damascus,VA , but I was wondering if any one else is planning to leave around then, because I would like to meet a couple of people before I head out by myself!

There will be lots of college kids starting then. In 2012 I started may 18th and ran into 5 others that day

May is my favorite time of year to hike the southern AT. I'll be out doing all sorts of section hikes in May. Planning on finishing up the Smokies then and doing some other long weekend hikes. There will be lots of people on the trail then, especially around the weekends. Have a great hike.
