For my UL cook system I use a Snowpeak 600 + TI lid from fourdog stoves 3.1oz total, QiWiz TI small windscreen 0.5oz, esbit TI fuel burner/ pot stand 0.4oz, TI ground cover from trail designs 0.02oz, and a small 2 1/2 cup Tupperware bowel that nestles on the bottom of my cook pot 0.6oz. Total weight is 4.62oz and one 14g esbit cube is usually more then enough to get me through the day doing FBC. I perfer to use a TI pot because when I make a camp fire I just use my pot in the fire. This helps me to conserve my fuel even more. 3oz of fuel with an occasional fire will easily get me through 6 days.

    Default Fosters can pot

Where are you in W PA?
I'm starting to get down on the Fosters pot. Last two times I've burned the pasta sides. I know an alcohol stove just burns full on, I need to explore a simmer ring. But also its too deep to stir properly with an MRE spoon. I'm starting to think about a wider shallower pot, Ti or Al.

I also proved again the other day that alcohol flames are invisible in daylight and that poly gloves will melt.

Agree, it is mainly used to boil water for freezer bag cooking.

I never knew that.. I take my boat out on the lake all the time.. I thought they only had the bike trail running thru there. I may have to hit that up this summer
I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list.

Training hikes.. 5-7 days out. Little rain, few cold nights, some elevation. You'll figure it out.

I'm actually still working on the sleeping bag system. I have 2 Ozark Trail 32* bags. I am planning to remove the hood/drawstrings/zippers from both. Make one into a top quilt and the other into an under quilt. Toying around with the idea of whether or not to add down to either of them. The finished TQ/UQ combo (if I don't add down) should be round about 2.9 pounds with a cost of $130.
