If you are very concerned about parking, spend a night at the hiker's hostel and have the shuttle you to Woody Gap and Hogpen Gap. I think the fee for a bunk is $18 for the night. I believe they allow you to keep you car there on private property (likely safer). Also they provide shuttle services to Woody Gap and Hogpen gap. Not sure the price though. Call and see if that works for you.

Woody Gap is a better bet. Its a big parking lot off a main road.

Actually, Hogpen Gap is also a decent size and off a pretty well traveled road.. I would say Woody Gap has a bigger parking lot plus it has a latrine
