That is beautiful.
nice...
there are some beautiful campsites along that trail..........
Very nice, enjoyed the speed at which it was shot...really lets that water come alive. When we view water I think our eyes see this, but it is so fleeting.
Nice video. Can anyone identify the bird at the 53 second mark?
It is a ruby throated hummingbird.
Good old Bald River is an excellent "beginner's" backpack and a sweet relief for old-timers who need a break as the short 5.5-6 mile trail has no real hills and no creek crossings. Your video is excellent and comes close to what's it's actually like hiking and backpacking the river trail.
It's sometimes serene and sometimes not---see pics:
I was on the Bald River trail recently and camping near the upstream Cascade waterfall near the end of the trail. I left camp to do a short killing-time dayhike and stopped at a little blowdown. Five minutes later I turned on my heel and found this fellow right under my feet---but he wasn't seen 5 minutes before. So, he's become the mystical snake and a sort of trail angel for those of us who enjoy the pit vipers.
Near the end of the Bald River trail there is this waterfall I call the Cascades. Here it is during tranquil times with my friend Little Mitten sitting on a rock.
Here is the exact same spot after several days of rain as I passed by on a backpacking trip. I've posted these before and after pics before. Not so tranquil now. I had to cross this thing 3 miles up on the Brookshire trail in the Upper Bald wilderness. It was a very stupid thing to do.
Yes, you have got to have your eyes glued to the trail during summer and drought. I have a real fear of copperheads.
Yes, I agree to having your eyeballs peeled for the copperheads and rattlers. The video was beautifully shot and the music blended wonderfully. It made the raindrops and gurgling water seem as if it was water put to music. May I ask what kind of camera equipment you used to make the film? I take it a tripod was used since it was so still and steady.
Hi Siari, I am glad you enjoyed it. I used the Panasonic GH4 camera at 1080p, 60fps and 200mbps. Lenses used were the Panasonic 14-45mm, 45-175mm and Olympus 60mm macro lens. Edited with Edius 5.51 and encoded for the web using Windows Media Video 9.
excellent video, thanks for sharing
