Default Hammock thru with an UQ, inflatable pad and CF pad

How many of you hammock thru hiker or long section hikers carry a UQ, and an inflatable pad ?

I found an inflatable pad I like that is comfortable inside a hammock and helps with shoulder crunch.

A different question is would a 1/8x44x60 CF pad plus an inflatable plus a 40dF UQ be enough for a thru hike.

The inflatable pad that works for me is a Klymit Xwave and combined with the CF pad weighs about 15-16 oz.

Right now I have a 20dF underquilt but I would like to go to a higher rated lighter UQ to save weight and offset the weight of the two pads.

Contrary to the prevailing wisdom, pads can be just as comfortable (and moreso in the case of eliminating shoulder squeeze) as UQ's as you have found out. I think any of those combinations will work. Try them out. I use a 45deg UQ in summer, and move to pads in winter. I use the combination in the in between months.

i carried a 3/4 pad through to the whites. left it a Madison hut and stayed in no more huts. the smokies i hung in shelter. it was 2009. no rule not to then and it was winter, nobody else around.

i quit using pads in my hammocks. im good from -10 to 70 with quilts. too much bulk or weight with the pads in my opinion.
I'm so confused, I'm not sure if I lost my horse or found a rope.

I agree. I have a hammock, TQ and UQ along with all other accessories and I am good down to 0*. Total weight is about 10lbs. (1day food and water).
