    Default FS: National Geographic Maps Great Smokies and Cherokee/Pisgah

    howdy....

    somehow ive aquired some extra maps....

    they are national geographic/trails illustrated maps 229 great smoky mountain and map 782 cherokee/pisgah.........

    both are in excellent shape.......

    im asking $15 plus $3 in shipping for both of them....

    (they retail for 11.95 a piece)...

    This is a good deal, I have both of these plus about 10 oth Nat Geo maps. Great for planning or in case of emergency on trail. Show roads, major streams, shelters, towns etc gl selling

    What year were these published? I know Pisgah has made a ton of changes in their Forest (new public roads, closing old Forest roads, abandoning / rerouting trails) since their own last maps were published.

    both say they were revised in 2004.......

    i looked at national geographic's website to see what current editions are out---
    the cherokee one is current-----hasn't been revised since 2004 (other than the cover is different)..

    the smokies one was revised in 2007....

    quite honestly---not sure what would be revised since 2004..............2003 was a major upgrade for the little brown book and thats when trail mileage was really set in stone (guy measured each trail at least three times to get most accurate data) and im sure national geographic revised to meet this new data........
