    Default Missing: Martin John Rogers

We are searching for a good family friend who is missing from Gaithersburg, MD. He was last spotted on the C&O Trail near Shepherdstown, WV on Sunday, 8/24. He has always wanted to hike the AT, so we're trying to get word out on the chance he goes that way. Flyers were posted Tues, 8/26, at Harper's Ferry Conservatory Visitors Center and at the trail crossings in Weverton and at Gathland State Park.

Here is the link to the Montgomery County Police news release: http://www.mymcpnews.com/2014/08/22/...ersburg-man-2/

    More information: http://www.times-news.com/news/artic...9bb2963f4.html

I have attached the flyer we are trying to circulate far and wide. Please feel free to print it and distribute. If anyone sees him, please call: 301-279-8000.

    Thank you!

Very sorry to hear that he is missing. Here is to hoping for a positive resolution.

Seems his body was discovered. Very sad news indeed.

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WJZ)– Police have identified a man found dead in an abandoned vehicle Thursday afternoon as 54-year-old Martin John Rogers IIIRogers, an NIH scientist, was reported missing in August. He was last seen alive leaving his Gaithersburg home before heading to work on Aug. 21. His family and friends believe he was suffering from an amnesia-like illness.
On Thursday, Maryland State Police troopers were called to the area of Smith Road in Allegany County, where passers-by located what appeared to be an abandoned car.
When authorities arrived they found a body believed to be Rogers near the vehicle.
The body has been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for confirmation of identity.
No foul play is suspected in his death.

Still odd that he was "near the car" after checking into a motel hours after leaving home. And cause of death up in the air. Sure it's probably injuries from accident or accident from medical emergency. Odd.
