Buddy uses the Ruff Wear Approach pack as well. I like the fit and the suspension system seems well balanced. He carries his food, bowls and ground cloth so the weight isn't much.

Nice spaniel...this video clip shows how much energy my lil dog has!! Hopefully the pack will slow him down!! He pulls my son several miles on skateboard easily...

Dam that's not good...lasted under a year... O well I'll try it as it's less than $30.....then look at a wolf pack.

My dog is 6 years old, and started trailing at 4 months. He went thru 2 packs a year for the first 2.5 years, on the sixth pack I went with wolf pack. I after probably 400-500 miles on the pack it still looks brand new. I think this pack will probably still be used on my NEXT dog one day lol

What kind of miles was your dog doing, that it was going through 2 packs a year?

I throw the pack on my dog every walk we go on, usually with just water added for weight... Have yet to have an issue with our Ruffwear pack (the middle sized pack, forget the name)

In 6 years I have done +- 1500 miles . I got him 5.5 years ago. He is big, 95 pounds, rubs against rocks and trees, swims thru river crossings lays down with it. And I as well, put water weight on him even during day hikes or walks. Now, the first pack was a mountainsmith, which due to the design of the strapping, wore off his front nipples on the first trip.
The next four packs fell victom to anything from unraveled zippers, busted seams, fabirc wearing clean thru. The Wolfpack is top notch and has suffered the most use witht he least amount of wear. I have only seen 2 other wolf packs and they were both near Hot Springs on seperate weekends.
