How about a biodegradable urn that will turn your dog into a tree.

This is like those memorials you always see along the highway at the location of a car accident where someone died. While its a nice sentiment, they are a nightmare for the people who have to cut the grass and maintain the road. But even though they are illegal, people usually feel too guilty about it to actually remove them.

Assuming you don't kick the bucket before he does. One can never be sure about these things you know...

though you'll likely find opposition to this as well from some special interest group, I like that idea...maybe even a dogwood tree, as they could use bump.

I lost my best friend Cooper yesterday. Cooper and I walked the AT everyday we were up at our Mtn Home at Grassy Gap. Cooper easily covered 10,000+ miles over the same terrain close to home between Springer and Blood Mtn. Cooper was only 10 1/2 years old and the only blessing to his passing is it was a very short illness. Literally thousands of hikers have met Cooper on the trail and they always commented how well behaved he is.

It is my intention to spread his ashes on down the slope on the AT near my home.

RIP my good friend. We will meet again and go for a nice long hike someday.

Fatman, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We grow so close to these fine friends and they always pass too soon. Remember all the great times he gave you and how many smiles he put on hikers faces. I know wardy has uplifted the spirits of many thru hikers missing their own furry friends, even pushing them not to quit thier hike at the point of tears.
