Last section hike I packed a bunch of granola (not bars) and found I couldn't stomach the stuff at all. I don't have any recipes to offer either. But I can say this much: of all the commercial snack bars and protein bars I've sampled, the ones that never fail to please are Larabars. They go down easy, taste pretty good. Many flavors to choose from.

Make rice krispie treats, only add 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of honey roasted peanuts, and instead of using rice krispies use honey nut cheerios.
