Default Happy first day of fall

First day of fall and apparently it's snowing atop Mt Washington

The foliage is quickly nearing peak. I suspect with good weather forecast for the weekend, the leaf peepers will be out in force here in the Whites. I think I'll head out for a walk and take some pictures...

Yes, happy fall to all. It's a gorgeous day here too, with brilliant sun, a cool breeze, falling acorns, and the smell of decaying fallen leaves. We are in the first stages of color, with virginia creeper a bright red (at least it looks good while it strangles the trees), and just a touch of yellow and orange elsewhere, especially in low-lying swamps. Temps were in the high 30s last night, but my garden is still going strong. We are feasting on tomatoes, pole beans, eggplant, and cukes.

It was quite brisk up at the overlook on the Pine Line trail, Madison summit was still in the clouds. It was too dark for the color in the valley to show up in the photo, but still a decent view to the west.
