    Default Diy anorak or poncho

Hey guys first post here but I was wondering if there is any reason a diy silnylon poncho or anorak wouldn't work. My fear is because there wouldn't be a stand off between me and it leak throu and I might as well not wear anything. Just trying to replace my old pu coated nylon jacket for a bit less than buying a ready made one. Thanks

If it's silnylon, it shouldn't leak through. I use a gathered piece of silnylon to carry water.

You might get soaked anyway though, if it doesn't breathe and traps your perspiration.

It should work fine for you. I use a poncho quite often, it vents well plus on those chilly rainy mornings it actually holds a little heat in also.
