Looking for coffee singles today, I stumbled across this site. Most notably, they have the 3oz tuna foil packs and coffee that comes tea-bag style.

Fast service also-and excellent packing. The packets of fudge and caramel sauce are sooo good, and get the olive oil packets!

'Tea bag style' coffee usually contains a mixture of ground and instant. Not my cup of tea

I used to just make it French/Latin style, ie just add the coffe and sugar to the pot, let it sit and then strain with a tea strainer. Lately I've been using the pot just to boil water, so an alternative needed to be found.

You can't beat Lavazza espresso in a tea infuser directly in the mug. No mess, and it's the real thing. If only I could find a plastic tea infuser. The only ones I can find are metal and weigh about 10 grams. For those who are unfamiliar with tea infusers, they're like two little mesh strainers arranged like a clam and spring loaded to keep them closed. You just use them like a tea bag, rinse them off and you're cleaned up and good to go.

I have seen infusers / strainers with a plastic rim, which fit on top of the drinking lip of a standard size cup. A fine gauge nylon strainer is suspended from the plastic rim.

It is not the fully enclosing “clam shell” design typical of infusers for individual cups, and may more properly be called a "strainer," but it’s the same basic design as infusers for tea pots. Look at it this way, it’s large enough to add tea for unexpected guests.

I bought one long ago, so I haven’t looked for one lately. My wife says all the ones she sees are now made of metal.

I’ll let you know if I find one.

Neat site just remember you will be burning 6,000 calories a day on the trail. Food will become a primary craving after a few weeks on the trail & you loose almost all your body fat. What you may consider as single serving now will become an appetizer. When I thru-hiked the AT I used a lot of freeze dried meals. The two person portion were filling at first, but I soon had to supplement them. I also found I started to use a lot of squeze parkay. I put it in everything just to get calories. Margerine has a great calori to weight ratio.

As for coffee I still live by cowboy coffee. You just have to do it right. Boil your water. Take it off the stove & add the coffee. let it seep for a few minutes & give a few taps on the side of the pot to settle the grounds. A few drops of water should bring the rest of the grounds to the bottom. Tried the tea bags & my friends said they prefer my cowboy coffee

I placed an order on Sunday 4/16. I received an email today (4/19) stating that the order was shipped 4/18 and I should expect it 4/21. Good turn around. They offer lots of things that you might need just one or two of for a first aid kit - benedryl tablets, hydrocortisone cream packets, etc. Lots of sauces... soy , BBQ, A1... that can make re-hydrated food better. Even peanut butter in single serving squeeze packets.
