Everything you have heard is true -- and more! You should not undertake to read The Thread unless properly outfitted and fully prepared for this adventure. You may want to read several shorter threads first as it is not really a beginner's thread or suited for those lacking a strong determination and ability to see things completely thru.
Do not click on blue text such as this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DHDK...related&search=
That would be "blue clicking" and will take you to a page that is not on "the thread." Although the other page may be easier to view It is strictly prohibited if you are to thru-read "the thread."
But, but, but.... there are some wonderful things to be seen at the end of "blue clicks" Why aren't 'blue clicks' acknowledged as part of The Thread
whatever jack we all know you have the teen magazine w/warren on the cover plastered in your locker.
the more you talk.... it just aint good jack.
try and think about something other than warren doyle for five minutes.
there's a whole 'nother world out there jack.
the first step is admitting you have a problem

There are some of The Thread's purists that argue whether or not you read the Approach Thread is an indicator of whether or not you will complete the ENTIRE Thread. They feel is you have skipped the Approach Thread that has already cheapened your read and you will skip more and more. I personally feel this is not so.DWM-"Can anyone be a true Thru-Reader if they skip the Approach Thread?"
The important thing is to believe in yourself despite the off-topic deluge that may rain on The Thread for days. Remember to RYOR (Read Your Own Read) and not let speed readers or remedials try to drag you into their read. You should also strive to leave The Thread in better condition than you found it for those who will read The Thread after you. For instance, if The Thread is closed by the Admin’s for maintenance, don’t try to hack into The Thread because that only shows a lack of character and is clearly illegal.
I hope your read is successful and that, when you surmount that final sentence, you will have enjoyed your read. Just don’t expect non-readers, who you will meet after your read, to be as enthralled as you are in The Thread. You will hear things like: “How long did it take you to read it, ten minutes?”; or ”Weren’t you afraid reading it alone?”; or “Did you see any compound sentences?”; or “Do you think it is safe for a single woman to read The Thread?”: or “Would you consider reading The Thread again?”.
I've read The Thread four times and I'm planning my fifth thru-read.
I am Thread trash.

SKids is an extremely well-known thread reader
He also is a well-known self-promoter.....he never fails to let people know how many times he's "read the thread", or that he's read more words dnd has more complete perused posts than anyone else.
He also boasts of his accumulated reads and is the only well known thread meister to repeatedly post this figure in Trail Registers. I can't think of any other well-known poster who assumes that their accumulated reads is of interest to anyone but themselves; it is only Mr. Skids who insists on repeatedly sharing this data with the public.
He is very concerned with talking about his readings accomplishments, but is assiduously dis-ingenuous, in fact, downright dis-honest about what he's really done.
Most folks as you well know, assume that when one speaks of having read the entire thread the assumption on the part of the listener is that this was done with one's full attention, and without the TV on in the background.
Most people do not associate laptops on the couch with real thread reading.
Therfore, for a well-know Minesotista to crow about his reads, their number, or his total verbage, it is extraordinarily dishonest to avoid mentioning that much, if not most of this reading came about NOT as dedicated participant, but buy dividing hi attention between the thread and "Deal or no Deal".
So calm yourself, Folks. If Skids is uncomfortable about discussing the details, well perhaps he should be more restrained with his incessant boasting, OK?
I have no doubt that Mr. Skids will yet again fail to answer this, I suggest we let this thread get back to Mr. Tarlin. I mean Mr. Smith.
