REI Atlanta's AT class of 2006 send-off party, March 1, Wed.

REI has been hosting a series of AT thru-hike workshops, and I've agreed to dust off the AT slide show and tune up the guitar for an interactive presentation. Other than seeing me fumble over the names of places north of Maryland, there is time set aside for Q&A about "last-minute" (sounds urgent) questions directed to me or the REI employees like Frank "Friendly Bear" who have also hiked the AT and is planning on hiking the CDT.

The event is totally free (except those old socks you rescue from the clearance bin) and is open not just to 2006 hikers but also past, future, non-hikers, family, and all-out hiker trash.

Afterwards, we're going to Locos for food and to learn about the endangered services campaign.

Should be a good time. Hope to see some of you there.
