    Probably. I've got a neighbor that finished a SOBO in January or February.

    In 1966 Jim Shattuck (age 51) left Katahdin in late August (the 24th). He arrived on Springer on May 23, 1967.

    Spent a night on Sinking Creek Mtn, VA in minus 27 degree weather.

    He used snowshoes part of the way.
