I did a search for this company here on WB and found only one thread that mentions them. I want to thank Clark Fork for drawing my attention to Penny and Specialty Outdoors with his thread on the Doug Out.

I am a bit of an amature with sewing and wanted to replace the velcro on my Europa tent with a zipper. I wrote to Penny - shipped the tent and about a week (maybe two) later - bam - my tent comes back with a waterproof zipper closure for the vestibule.

I can not say enough positive about Penny and her service. She communicated what she would do, gave clear and acccurate pricing guidelines and made sure (although I made it clear I would be fine if the tent was not completed) I had my tent in time for an upcoming trip.

If you need alterations or are toying around with some homemade gear you do not know how to make - contact Penny with Specialty Outdoors - she can get the job done! (and for me - the best part is the new zipper takes 5 ounces off the total weight of the tent)
