AT maintenance opportunity...

...for those in the Tri-Cities area (or close proximity) in TN.

On Saturday, 4/21, TN Eastman Hiking Club will be digging a sidehill trail relocation near Iron Mt Gap on route 107. Several college groups are planning on helping. Intent is to finish the relocation, paint the blazes and open it up.

It is about 1.5 mi hike to the planned relocation. Need to bring a lunch and water (something to drink). Typically, work gloves are available, but if you have some bring them.

If anyone is interested send me a PM (mountain squid) or reply to this thread and I'll send you time/meeting place info via PM. Need to know who is coming to ensure adequate tools are available.

Had a great day for trail maintenance. A great big THANK-YOU to everyone who assisted. There were about 50 people, including students from ETSU and ASU. Old blazes were scraped and new blazes were painted. Eleven Thru-hikers christened the new trail (see here for more info http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/show...320#post355320).
