    Old Grouse,

You really made me laugh this morning! I kept thinking I should know the name Verne Troyer, and finally looked it up. When the picture came up I cracked up, and thanks as I needed it today! (working on the ac thermostat...)

Here is the link for anyone else who is clueless like me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verne_Troyer

I get a "Kick"(pun indended) out of a 11 year old being able to fire a .50cal hand gun and not land on his but. peace. J.J.B.

I've seen thru hikers in Georgia -- as well as haunting certain pubs in trail towns -- who look just like that pig. In fact, his countenance bears an uncanny similarity to that of at least one "trail legend." :-)

    Default We tried...

to recruit him for the offensive line, but his ACT was too low, so that left only one choice remaining... (couldn't chance another school fixing his grades...)

Depends on the round. If he hit it 8 times, odds are they were subsonic. The .50 wasn't a magnum, most likely, and since he'd been hunting most of his life, I'm pretty sure he would be used to the weapon.

The photo is under scrutiny. Rememeber the times you held the fish out closer to the camera to make it look bigger.

That's what it looks like to me. I think the kid is abot 10' behind the pig and the camera was positioned so the pig looked a lot bigger that it really was.

    Still a big pig, though.

The whole thing is a shameful hoax. It was a canned hunt, the pig was grown on a farm then let loose for the fat little redneck to kill. The pig could have been taken down with a single shot from a high-powered rifle, and indeed, several adult hunters admit that they were staged all around the hollow where the pig was loosed "for safety in case the pig lunged at the kid". So, the pig could have been killed instantly, humanely. But no. Instead they let a fat little brat chase it around for three fricken hours, shooting it repeatedly, until it collapsed in agony. The photos clearly show at least one gut-shot. What a horrible way to die.

The whole hunt was staged and timed in order to get the little brat into the new Hogzilla movie that (gee what a coincidence) was holding casting calls that very week...

The photos have been independtly verified as having been both staged and digitally altered. Cites: http://www.stinkyjournalism.org/newsdetail.php?id=45 and http://fieldandstream.blogs.com/news...ng_news_1.html

The kid claims to be "proud of his accomplishment". He ought to be ashamed of himself. For the rest of his life, he's gonna be known as the fat kid who tortured an animal, then lied about it's size.

p.s. The 700 lbs of sausage they claim they're getting from the animal's corpse" Like that kid needs any more sausage...

Forgot to add: The pig was let loose inside a fenced-in game preserve for the kid to kill.

So, no one needs to worry too much about running into a hog that size in the wild.

Those two links don't prove your point, no one has come to the conclusion scientifically that this is a hoax...........not that I have heard of anyway......

It was indeed a canned hunt in a 150 acre fenced area. They had to jettion any sense of decency to hunt in such a small enclosure.

It's still a big pig, but here's a photo with the hog, boss hog, and their prey in correct proportion.

Nothing in these links show any proof the photos have been independently analyzed. They're just some guys who didn't see the pig or the original photo yakking away.

Direct quote from the website (www.stinkyjournalism.org):

"At Art Science Research Lab, we are responsible for the publication of several media ethics blogs, checkyourfacts.org and stinkyjournalism.org. Earlier today, we published our analysis of this story and photograph, which ran on the AP, Fox News, ABC, CBS, and CNN. These photos are obvious fakes, as our in-house photo experts and an NYU physicist attest. The boy and his father were scheduled to appear on NBC’s Today Show today, until we exposed the hoax and presented our evidence to NBC. For the full story, check out www.stinkyjournalism.org"
