Matt arrived in Duncannon with a ride from The Dude on Wednesday night. We talked about me taking him to Springer, an idea that I was very excited about...getting to see more of the trail. After figuring gas cost with my car and then the cost of a rental, Matt decided to get a ride with Tricks. So, the late hours of Wednesday were spent discussing that and diabetes.
The Dude left about 2 am and Matty and I talked (I learned about what he eats on the trail, stoves, and burners) till about 4 till he crashed on my couch. We spent Thursday running errands and had an absolute great time. Then while I went to play pool he got his fix of room 23.
Tricks arrived at 2AM and they departed. Hugs all around. I will miss Matty and his frequent visits to Duncannon. Thank you Matty for brightening my days with your happiness and stories. Have a great hike. Say Hi to all in Damascus. Have a good time at Dot's.

Matty happens to be a very good passenger. Just don't let him help with the car or directions...
