I've been hiking without her, and she acts like she thinks I'm mad at her. Lays on her back and whines every time I go by. Paula says she just lays around the whole time I'm gone.

She's used to going with me all the time. I guess she just doesn't have any idea why she's not been with me on this long hike. I'll get her later and take her on the AT some with me, but for now, the FHT will do her some good.

Maybe I'm being a bit anthropomorphic, but I don't think so. Anyway, I'm getting out of here tonight with her. I meant to leave last night, but I had a terrible headache. We'll probably do 8 miles before dawn and gain ~2,000 feet. Not like going up to Sassafras Gap from the NOC, but still a nice night hike.

Just got off the phone with Matty.........he is in Hot Springs.......hiked 18 miles in and is doing well!

He called and left a message yesterday...while I was asleep, naturally.

So, he made it to Hot Springs, eh? He said in the message he was headed there.

They really do have pet therapists.

I don't have pets, but some folks treat 'em just like family members.

walked 18 into hot springs last eve with bobcat(male). elmers just to crash and a shower. today shine and joy his wife will visit and shine and me will resume hiking with johnney thunder who should be leaveing standing bear today or yesterday. tonight , the campground. all is well. volenteered to set up tents at the outfitter and other jobs around town. witch is one street. the festival will be a blast. max patch was clear and green. no bears.

I Need To Know If Matthewski Is Staying In Hot Springs For The Festival. I Tracked The Mail Drop I Sent Him. Matty left me about it yesterday and would love to receive it. It Is Still At Ron's Budget Inn. Ron Is Coming To Hot Springs Tomorrow. If Matty Is Going To Be There, Ron Will Deliver It But I Have To Call The Budget Inn Back And Verify That Matty Will Be There. If Anyone Knows For Sure If Matty Is Or Will Be There Please Call Me, Asap So I Can Call The Budget Inn today. 717-265-6628

I talked to Matt. He is staying in Hot Springs all weekend. Package is being delivered by Ron on Saturday. Matt has to find Ron. Ron will not look for Matt according to the his hotel clerk.

Johnny T. was delayed leaving Standing Bear, primarily because I was cooking for the last few days; he didn't get out til around noon today. He'll most likely be around Brown Fork Gap this evening, then push for a big day tomorrow. He'll probably not be in H.S. til mid-Sunday morning.

On the other hand, I'll see you there before that.
