    Default Maildrops, Please Help

Hey everyone. Just wondering exactly how the maildrop system works. Do you send seperate little boxes to each mailing location and do you send them all out at once, or do you have your contact at home send them say a month before you should arrive at the location? Thanks for any Info.

    Welcome to White Blaze!
There are A LOT of posts on here about mail drops. Just do a search. Most people do very little mail drops. The ones that did a lot will tell you next time they will do a lot less. Most people have someone at home mailing them out every so often. That way if you need or don't need something it can be taken care of that way.

Use the "Search" box and you'll find all sorts of info on maildrops.

Also, if you go to the "Artcles" section of Whiteblaze, there's lots of information on how to send yourself mail while on the Trail, and also some information on shopping and food re-supply while en route. Most present-day thru-hikers now find it easier and more convenient to buy most of their food while en route as opposed to having it mailed, but there are sorts of ways to do it.
