Default Pinkham Notch Visitor Center - Mail Drop?

    (SOBO)

I'm not saying that I'm going to send a mail drop to Pinkham Notch, but I'm looking for possible places through the Whites to send a mail drop that'll be easy to pick up.

Would this be a good place for a mail drop? - Trying to stay on the trail and get through the section without having to take time out to go to town to resupply.

Also wanting to keep a pretty light pack through this section.

Any advice? Hours of opperation of the visitor center? Proximity? - Right on the trail?

    Thanks

It's totally easy to pick a drop up at Pinkham Notch (AMC facility) and makes sense since they are open all the time and you're right there! Just have an ID ready.

Crawford Notch campground also accepts mail drops. It's down the road about a mile though from the trailhead, but we got a day hiker to bring us down. And if you stay the night there at their hiker bunkhouse, they shutte you back in the AM. But I would call them to make sure on these facts - since we did this back in '07.

They are open every day that I know of. Times may vary though. But check the AMC web site.

There is at least one employee on duty 24 hours per day 7 days a week as there is lodging next door at Joe Dodge lodge. Getting your package shouldnt be a problem.

Thanks a lot everybody. This sounds like a great place to mail drop. If it turns out that I want/need to do one here.
