NC-TN section hike

Hoping to get on the trail July 5th or 6th to hike from Sams Gap (I-26)
to Iron Mountain Gap (TN-107/NC-226). Anybody familiar with the parking
situation at the North end ? Also, can anybody recommend someone for
this shuttle that is reliable/reasonable ?

Lastly, anyone been in this area in the last few days ? Whats the water
situation and have the rhododendron/azaleas already peaked?

Hi How are you. As to your parking I'm not sure.If you are hiking over the Roans to US19e I offer safe parking at my place.I live next to the AT and have extremely close access to the trail.You can call 423-772-3425 or e-mail me at dremamorris@earthlink.net anytime.As for the rodies they're a total bust this year.We've had lots and lots of hard rain and it's beat the blooms off.I was on the top of Roan mnt. today and it was hard to find a plant with any good looking blooms.
