They probably read somewhere the Appalachian Trail is so well marked hikers don't need maps. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said deputies, along with members of the Beekman and Union Vale fire departments, responded to a report of a 17-year-old Gaylordsville, Conn., woman and a 20-year-old New Milford, Conn., man who were hiking the trail as night approached and wound up on the wrong trail.
They called Dutchess County 911 on a cell phone and were able to give limited information as to where they were.

The dumbass's were going in circles around Nuclear Lake most likely or were on the Upland Loop. The key word in that was Loop.
