    Default Which sleeping bag?

I will be hiking a few days in the Smokies during April. Hoping to see some pretty wildflower sites. I have a 32degree and a 15 degree bag. Which one will i need for April in the Smokies? Also, Down sweater or polar fleece under gortex rain jacket?

15 no question. Down sweater no question. Been in the Smokies in June with temps below freezing.

Will you be hiking with the insulation and gortex rain jacket at the same time?

If it's a Slumber Jack 15 deg bag it won't be enough but a good brand 32 might work.

Bring the fleece to hike in as it might get damp while hiking and the down sweater to change into in camp to get dry and warm.

The 32 is a north face beeline and the 15 is a north face blue kazoo

I can layer the down jacket under the gortex rain jacket or wear them separately

Right, this is what i did for a november hike with temps in the 30s. I'm thinking that if I bring the fleece, down and gortex that should give me several options and combinations

I'd take the 15 blue kazoo. I'd also take the down sweater and possibly wear the fleece....and or take the goretex. I hate being cold and wet.

Thanks for the input. That what I like about this forum. I'll pack the blue kazoo, my fleece, down and gortex rain jacket and pants. Guess this means I need to pack the larger back pack
