I will be hiking a few days in the Smokies during April. Hoping to see some pretty wildflower sites. I have a 32degree and a 15 degree bag. Which one will i need for April in the Smokies? Also, Down sweater or polar fleece under gortex rain jacket?

What brand are the bags? Down sweater.
The trail is ever winding and the party moves every night.

15 no question. Down sweater no question. Been in the Smokies in June with temps below freezing.

He will if it's cold enough.

If it's a Slumber Jack 15 deg bag it won't be enough but a good brand 32 might work.

Bring the fleece to hike in as it might get damp while hiking and the down sweater to change into in camp to get dry and warm.
I'd take the 15 blue kazoo. I'd also take the down sweater and possibly wear the fleece....and or take the goretex.I hate being cold and wet.
Take the blue kazoo

Thanks for the input. That what I like about this forum. I'll pack the blue kazoo, my fleece, down and gortex rain jacket and pants. Guess this means I need to pack the larger back pack![]()
blue kazoo. Jacket AND fleece.
