He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,

been there, done that. didn't have any swelling or horrid pain though, but still no fun at all.
This is in the Hiking Humor forum, but I think there should be a Hiking Horror forum so we can put it in there instead.![]()
Seriously though, get better fast. And maybe see a doctor about the swelling... not really sure why there would be swelling like that.
Don't take anything I say seriously... I certainly don't.
The bad news is the tick and its location. The good news is you know about it. You don't look like the commando skirt type and Sunday wasn't summer solitice...Even I keep the chemicals away from the jewels. Solution: MYOG - mesh thong!

Hike early, hike often, hike light - just hike.
Reminds me of the time I was ... um... creating compost in the Adirondacks. I horsefly bit me there.
Trust me, horsefly bites are worse than ticks there.. I know!![]()

Boy, I bet you are "Ticked Off"!
Turns out this could have been completly avoided, That day I didn't spray up with off and I wore loose fitting cotton breifs. The polypro briefs are form fitting and would not allow ticks there.![]()

Shouldn't this topic be on the Males Only Forum?
A fair hiker, but a little unbalanced.

Did Adam and Eve rest on the first Sabbath? Scripture only says that God did. Are we thinking yet?
Happened to me in my 2008 "un-thru" from Virginia to Katahdin. It was the only one that bit me on the whole 3+ months, but he gave me LYME'S Disease! aargh. I'm too shy to say exactly where it bit me, but I called him a "Scrotick"!....
Snakebait

The ticks are out in force in here in the southern Berkshires. I'm outside everyday and average two or three tick bites per year, two in last three days, thank fully in non sensitive areas.
Same here in the central highlands.
Pulled two Deer Ticks off me yesterday after a walk in the woods and a dog tick day before.
Its in the news here to be extra cautious after a very mild winter in these parts. Don't forget your dope.
