Has any one ever used the military issued 9 strap compression bag? They sell on ebay for 8-20 bucks they look pretty good but I would like some first hand usage details ... I didn;t know how else to word that sorry!

9 strap? Sounds heavy and overly complicated.

I bought two outdoor brand compression bags the straps broke when I was senching down on moth of them that is why I was so intrested in the military issued ones

i use my knee to compress and then tighten to hold. i never compress with the straps themselves. blissful is right. ive used Granite gear ultralight compression sack. work great, but heavy.

if you can get one for $8, try one. The extra straps can be cut off.
While I realize that this is a "straight forward" thread, I think you might get more specific commentary and recommendations if you post which manufacturer's bag failed, what you were stuffing in it at the time, and what the planned use is. Half a pound is a lot of extra weight to carry just for one stuff sack.
Sorry I thought I did the brand was "Outdoor" I beleive it was the 13'' by 25'' bag and I was trying to put an old cloeman sleeping bag in it before I bought my new bag that compresses down to a much smaller size making it able to fit in my pack
