Dahlonega Trail Fest 2011

Announcing the first annual Spring on Springer Dahlonega Trail Fest on March 18-20, 2011. Join us on the first day of spring in Dahlonega, GA, the southern gateway to the AT. Planning is just beginning, but details as they develop at www.dahlonegatrailfest.org.

Activities will include camping, speakers, workshops, films, music, vendors, shuttles to Springer Mountain or Amicalola Falls, trail run, canoeing/kayaking, hikes, and MORE!

Speakers will include Gene Espy, second person to thru hike the AT, Johnny Molloy, author of 36 outdoor books and avid outdoorsman, Paralee Dawson, section hiker and author. We have secured our free tent camping area in town. It will be a fun weekend!

This looks fun. I was planning on starting my hike 3/18, so I'll be in the area anyway. Maybe I'll check it out and then begin. Hooray!
