Default Settle A Bet: Elk River Falls

Bet is: Trail does (or does not, depending on whose side you're taking) cross back into NC from TN north of 19E, near Elk River Falls - yes or no?

I used to maintain that section. It does not. Comes very close though.

Aarggh. I guess I'll be paying up. So, my ATC map is wrong, the online version of map is wrong? I want a re-count.

Jones Falls is right on the line and the Trail comes within a 1/4 mile of it. That's the closest to NC the Trail gets after coming off of Hump.

    I agree with Cabin Fever

I think Collins Chew, who edited the TN/NC ATC Guide book, wrote it up saying the trail hits the state line above the confluence of Jones Branch and Elk River but never officially crosses back into NC.
